Types of Tours

We welcome groups of all kinds! Bring your book club, garden club, scout group, family or friends for a visit!

Knowledgeable, friendly guides dressed in historic clothing will take your group on a stroll through buildings and grounds that represent a rural Florida community of the late 19th century.

This 90 minute tour features a guided walk through the Cracker Country living history museum and grounds.

This 2.5 hour tour includes Cracker Country living history museum, plus a visit to the Fairgrounds' other exhibits that showcase Florida history and industry:

Each group will be greeted by their tour guide who will lead the group through interactive activities that highlight rural Florida's history. A typical tour lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

Each group will have the opportunity to visit our gift shop. In the Cracker Country General Store you will find a wide selection of historical toys, games, candy, books, 1890s reproductions and much more. Prices start at an affordable $0.40.

Proceeds from sales in the General Store help support Cracker Country's education programs.

Saturday tours are available for groups of 100 or more.

Tours must be reserved at least three weeks in advance.

Group Tour Policies

Group Size

A minimum of 15 participants is required for a reserved program. Groups with fewer participants may be booked for a minimum program fee equivalent to 15 paid admissions.
There is no group size maximum for a tour. We can work with you to make sure we have enough tour locations and educators for your experience. Please keep us in the loop as to how many attendees to expect.

Weather

Field Trips take place rain or shine. Please encourage your group to dress appropriately for outdoor activities.

In the event of severe weather... During heavy rain or severe weather we may cancel your tour the day of the tour by calling the phone number you provide. Due to Florida's quickly changing forecasts a decision to cancel will never be made prior to the date of your tour. If we cancel your tour due to severe weather, we will make every effort to reschedule your group on an alternative date.

Covid-19 Policies

The health and safety of our students, teachers, guests and employees is of paramount importance. It is our mission to keep everyone safe while also continuing to make your visit a memorable experience.

Masks: Masks are welcomed, but not required.
Hands-on Stations: Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the field trip.

Pets are not allowed in Cracker Country.

Service animals are allowed, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or animals approved as part of an exhibition.
Service animal means any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.   
Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.

Please notify Cracker Country staff at the time of registration about any handicap or special needs of the group.
