About Program


We welcome groups of all kinds! Bring your book club, garden club, scout group, family or friends for a visit!

Knowledgeable, friendly guides dressed in historic clothing will take your group on a stroll through buildings and grounds that represent a rural Florida community of the late 19th century.

Living History Tour - Cost: $8 per person*
This 90 minute tour features a guided walk through the Cracker Country living history museum and grounds.

History, Industry and Tradition Tour - Cost: $14 per person*
This 2.5 hour tour includes Cracker Country living history museum, plus a visit to the Fairgrounds' other exhibits that showcase Florida history and industry:
- Florida Cattle Ranching: 500 Years of Tradition
- The Florida Forest Discovery Center
- The Power of Steam

All tours can include a visit to the General Store, where you can take home a memento of your visit from a variety of nostalgic items and books.

*A minimum of 15 participants is required for a reserved program. Groups with fewer participants may be booked for a minimum program fee (equivalent to 15 paid admissions).

Add-on activities
Make-n-Take Dolls: $3 per person
Morse Code Necklace Craft: $3 per person
Hoop Catcher: $1 per person
Poupourri Sachet: $1 per person
Corn Husk Doll Making: $1 per person
Yarn Doll: $1 per person
1 20 ft Rope (per up to 25 individuals): $1 per person

Dates: Week day afternoons in the Fall and Spring.
Saturday tours are available for groups of 100 or more. Tours must be reserved at least three weeks in advance.

What to Expect

Tour Guide

Each group will be greeted by their tour guide who will lead the group through interative activities that highlight rural Florida's history. A typical tour lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

General Store

General Store

Each group will have the opportunity to visit our gift shop.
In the Cracker Country General Store you will find a wide selection of historical toys, games, candy, books, 1890s reproductions and much more. Prices start at an affordable $0.30.

The General Store accepts cash, Visa, Master Card, and personal checks with ID.

Proceeds from sales in the General Store help support Cracker Country's education programs.
